I should have taken a picture this morning, since I have half the heel done on sock #1. But here’s what it looked at around 5PM last night.
I tried it on and I think I might need more for the foot. The whole sock is 90 rows right now, I’m thinking it might need 95. I’ll start the ribbon stitch pattern over again when I hit 91. I don’t think I can whip out the second sock before Friday, but I can try. At the very least I will take them with me and maybe finish them before midnight. For those out of the loop, Friday is the release party for Breaking Dawn, the fourth and [technically] final book in the Twilight series. I have yet to review the books themselves, but I did a review of why you should pick them up.
In other news, I haven’t touch anything else this week from my knitting bag. I tried to make the Twilight Sock yarn work in another pattern, but even DH doesn’t know what to make of them. So I have other plans for that bundle of joy. If I can find the tag.
After I finish Breaking Dawn I plan on making a sock pattern to go with it. I have to read it first though, to make sure what I have in mind will fit with the themes of the book. Most of my designs for these books are based on the cover art, but have related meaning. In the Eclipse Sock, the red ribbon is indeed a translation of the cover, but it is also a representation of Bella’s humanity. That would explain my lack of sock patterns for the other two books – the cover art is too literal for me. I have to think harder for those. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. I’ll work on it. Promise.
