Haven't heard of the books, haven't a clue what the fuss is about (a fact that has a few friends staring at me funny and I have two copies of the book on my bedside table along with orders to "leave my cave and join the rest of the universe outside") but the socks... How have I missed the whole afterthought heel thing? I feel more then a bit stunned that I've never come across this. I've been wanting to dip my toes into sock knitting, and this is the pattern that is going to force the issue. Thanks a ton! (And now I guess I have to read the dratted book as well.)
