Finally! Finished! And I’m all Breaking Dawned out, so I can actually post about the socks now! I knit until my hands were almost bleeding Friday night. I was knitting until about 7PM and then it was time to get ready for the Breaking Dawn release party! It was pretty hectic and hiking up my feet in the middle of a crowd seemed a little awkward so i didn’t get to show too many people, but a few savvy fans noticed them on their own. One of the Borders employees thought they were fabulous enough to warrant a T-Shirt for the costume contest! Its HUGE so I have to cut it apart before I can wear it. I also got a button that says ‘Breaking Dawn took my breath away’. It did too. More on that later when I get around to posting my review of the book on Shiny Shiny.
Right now the PDF pattern is available if you go to My Patterns at the top. Soon I will have the pattern typed into a blog post for those who would prefer not to download the PDF.
I am irrevocably in love with these socks. If you haven’t caught the drift yet they were inspired by the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Shiny Shiny has a review of that as well. I’m working on patterns for the other books and all I can say is… wait to be dazzled. I’m doing something special for Twilight since the movie is coming out soon so keep an eye out for those.
I haven’t been ignoring all my other projects… (just some of them). I’ve got a fair bit done on Monkey. I think one more pattern repeat will make them ready for toe-age.
My feet hurt after taking all these pictures. Really, my feet don’t look like that normally, but it makes the socks look fabulous. I’m also getting ready to cast on (surprise!) another pair of socks, but this time for the Ravelympics, a giagantic knit-a-long on Ravelry in honor of the upcoming Olympics. The gimmick is you cast on during opening ceremonies and you have to cast off before the flame goes out. My official start time is 8AM tomorrow (that’s when the opening ceremonies happen in Beijing) so I’d better get some more done on Monkey or I’ll never finish! My backup project (in the event I finish early, HARHAR) is to finish Monkey. We’ll see. We’ll see.

These socks kick ass! I’ve been seriously re-evaluating my stand on sock knitting because of them.
Wow — those socks are just perfect! As is your colorway for the Monkey socks! Great stuff here — well done!
LOVE your socks! Both pairs are beautiful! The color for the monkies? OMG Fabu! LOVE LOVE LOVE
I heart both pairs. A lot. For different reasons.haha They just look soo good! I wish I could knit socks. Maybe I’ll try crocheting some.haha
Keep up the nice work!
I just finished these for my daughter for her birthday — put a vampire smiley on the back of the second sock. She’s wearing them today so I can’t wait to hear what her other twilighters think of them. Thanks for the pattern!
