I knit this hat, Foliage, in a day. One day!! That’s a record for me I think… It’s chunky yarn and it was on 10.5 needles so it went really fast… but still. I love it, I don’t have a ‘Look I’m wearing it’ shot yet, because I have to fix the brim. Its a top down hat so the brim isn’t quite as stretchy as I would like.
I only knit 4 rows of the ribbing at the end… but I have to unravel another row to bund off looser. We’ll see if that works. The stats are below
- Yarn: Malabrigo Chunky in Cuarzo - 1 skein
- Needles: US10.5, US9 for ribbing on brim
- Pattern: Foliage from Knitty Fall 07
- Notes: Only knit 4 (maybe 3) rows of ribbing.

Pretty colors (love purple)
I have yet to knit Foliage myself. Maybe I should?
try the russian bind off – it worked like a dream for me!
Oooh, I’ve been wanting to make that. It’s such a pretty pattern! Good to know it works up so fast, too!
